Symptoms & Diagnosis
Pap smears are recommended where symptoms such as abnormal bleeding or persistent discharge exist, however, routine Pap smears have been recommended every 2 to 5 years from 25 to 74 years of age. Thin-Prep and HP Virus testing are additional tools to help prevent or detect cancer of the cervix.
Mammograms are recommended every 2 years from 50 to 69 years of age. Patients with symptoms or increased family risk of breast cancer should consult one of our doctors for advice regarding additional testing.
